DMX512 initially was formulated by USITT(American Theater Technology Association) in 1986,up to now ,it has been developed into a way to control the dimmer from the console with a standard digital interface.DM512 has surpasssed the analog system,
but it can not completely replace the analog system.The simplicity, reliability, and flexibility of DMX512 quickly became the main method for connecting controllers (such as lighting consoles) with dimmers and special effects devices such as fog machines and smart lights,ect.DMX has also expanded its application in non-theatre indoor and architectural lighting, ranging from Christmas lantern strings to electronic billboards.DMX can be used to control almost anything ,which can reflect how popular it is in theaters and venues.
DMX512 uses EIA-485 differential signaling on its physical layer, combined with a variable size, packet-based communication protocol, which is why Chengfeng’s DMX512 cable model is RS485 1P×7/0.20.DMX does not include automatic error checking and correction, so for dangerous applications, such as movement of fireworks or stage manipulation,it not a suitable control . False triggering may be caused by electromagnetic interference, electrostatic discharge, improper cable termination, excessively long cables, or poor cable quality.

Why project like DMX512 light strip?Why use DMX512 light strip?
1.Resume the transfer:low maintenance cost,if some points are broken,the remaining points can work normally.
>single SPI signal light strip,such as WS2812/SK6812/WS2811/TM1814 ,if the light strip one point is broken, the lights behind will all go out
>double SPI signal light strip,such as WS2812/SK6812/CS2803/CS8812/WS2818/TM1914,for serial signal breakpoint resuming light strip,as long as the two connected lamp beads are broken,the remaining lamp beads will die,and it can not achieve the effect of resuming the transfer.
>DMX512-5 line related signal anti-interference breakpoint resuming transmission light strip is a real breakpoint resuming transmission,no matter how many points are broken,the remaining points will work normally.A light strip with 300 lamp beads,even if it has broken 299points,the remaining one point will still work normally,and it will not be affected by other pixel points.
2.Easy to control and easy to design:common standard DMX512 protocol, many controllers can control, especially Madrix lighting effect software can be used to achieve very dazzling large-scale light show effects such as bar KTV.
3.Signal anti-interference: use the same category 5 network cable,the other symphony only have 10meters transmission distance,but the DMX light strip can transmit 200meters.
